What is hypnotherapy?
Hypnosis is a scientifically proven technique that bridges the gap between the conscious and subconscious parts of our mind. During a hypnotherapy session, the rational and analytical conscious mind is kept distracted by the voice of the hypnotherapist so that the deep and buried subconscious mind can be drawn closer to the surface. This state where the subconscious mind is at the forefront is called the trance state or hypnotic state and can be defined as an altered state of consciousness.
Hypnotherapy relies on hypnosis to reach the subconscious mind, the home to all our memories and past experiences and, as such, the cradle to all our fears and anxieties. The hypnotherapist uses the trance state to remodel the subconscious mind through the repetition of positive suggestions, ultimately transforming a negative belief system into a positive one.
